Frequently Asked Questions

Honesty and openness ensure the safety & proper function of doggie dojo miami; please disclose any pertinent information to keep our growing community safe!

  1. Does Doggie Dojo Miami accept intact dogs?
No, all pets must be spayed/neutered to participate in doggie daycare.

  2. Will my dog be put into a crate?
No. Doggie Dojo Miami provides a crate-free environment where dogs can play and have fun! Crating is available for feedings, potty training, and nap times at the owner's request.

  3. What vaccinations does my dog need to attend doggie daycare?
All pets are required to have current Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP vaccinations, as well as flea and tick prevention medication.
  4. What are the doggie daycare hours?
Doggie Dojo Miami's daycare hours are from 7 AM - 7 PM, Monday - Friday, and from 8 AM - 7 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

  5. What happens if I am running late and need to pick-up my dog after 7 PM?
Pick up from daycare is scheduled to end at 7 PM. While we understand that Miami traffic sometimes gets in the way, we do charge an additional $5 for every hour beyond 7 PM.

  6. What should I bring to daycare for my dog?  Do you want toys, a crate, treats, bowls, etc.?
Please bring your pet with only their leash, collar, and any medication that needs to administered during daycare hours. If your dog has any dietary restrictions, please let us know ahead of time and we can accommodate their needs.

  7. Is there a separation between big dogs and little dogs?
At Doggie Dojo Miami, we strive to create a cohesive pack where small and big dogs socialize safely. That being said, if we feel the need to separate small dogs, our facility has a small dog enclosure.
  8. What happens if my dog gets bitten?
Dogs often play with their mouths, so small cuts and abrasions are common, and are a normal part of a dog's play routine. We supervise all playing, and have a first aid kit ready for any minor nicks and cuts. If your dog is injured to an extent beyond the normal roughhousing of playing with other dogs, we will contact you, and - depending on the nature of the injury - bring your pet to the vet on file.

  9. How is my dog protected from the elements, like sun and rain?
Miami's hot and sunny weather means that people and dogs (especially those with light / fair fur and exposed skin) need to apply sunscreen and stay hydrated. This is especially true in the summer months. Though there is plenty of shade outdoors, we bring everyone indoors after a morning of play when the sun and heat are at their peak. We use that time to rest indoors, in an air-conditioned room stocked with soft cushions and dog beds. In the rare event of day-long inclement weather, we will do our best to manage pets' energy needs indoors, and will organize short but frequent potty breaks.

  10. Will you wash / groom my pet before pick up?
While we do not offer full grooming services, we can bathe and wash your dog for an additional fee of $30 upon request. Alternatively, we are happy to provide you with reputable recommendations for dedicated groomers.
